Children’s medicines coated with brain-damaging aluminum

(NaturalNews) Aluminum Lake food coloring, used to heavily coat liquid medicines for children, contains dangerous amounts of aluminum and harmful synthetic petrochemicals. These “petrochemicals” are carcinogens containing petroleum, antifreeze and ammonia, which cause a long list of adverse reactions. Aluminum poisoning can lead to short and long term central nervous system (CNS) damage, such as memory impairments, autism, epilepsy, mental retardation, and dementia.

Research shows that just 4ppm of aluminum can cause the blood to coagulate. This is what causes Alzheimer’s Disease and has been documented to inhibit learning. Aluminum consumption can also be associated with the development of bone disorders, including stress fractures.

Also known as tartrazine, FD&C Yellow Aluminum Lake is a chemical concoction derived from coal tar. It is known to be a reproductive toxin. All artificial colors contain Aluminum Lake, so when your child gets to pick between red, blue or green medicine, they’re really choosing which poison they get to consume. Several chemically enhanced food colorings contain ammonia and therefore produce compounds proven to cause various cancers in animal studies, according to CSPI, the Center for Science in the Public Interest. Most widely used food colors* and their damaging actions:

Blue #1: Research shows it causes kidney tumors in mice.

Blue #2: Research shows even higher incidence of tumors, specifically gliomas in male rates (a type of tumor that starts in the brain or spine).

Red #2: Toxic to rodents, even at modest levels, and causes tumors of the bladder.

Red #3: FDA recognized it in 1990 as a cause of thyroid cancer in animals. It was banned in cosmetics, but still allowed in food and medicine.

Red #40: Most popular dye of all. Debilitates the immune-system in mice. Allergic reactions common.

Green #3: Causes bladder and testes tumors.

Yellow #5: Affects behavior and induces severe hypersensitivity reactions.

Yellow #6: Causes adrenal tumors in animals. (*colors used in this post for effect only, not for actual identification)

Diagnosing Autism At A Younger Age Could Lead To Earlier Interventions

Diagnosiing Autism At A Younger Age Could Lead To Earlier Interventions
16 Oct 2011

Autism is normally diagnosed between the ages of 2 and 3. But new research is finding symptoms of autism spectrum disorders in babies as young as 12 months. If children could be diagnosed earlier, it might be possible to help them earlier – and maybe even stop them from developing autism, according to the author of a new paper published in Current Directions in Psychological Science, a journal of the Association for Psychological Science.

“In the field, there’s this new excitement,” says Brooke Ingersoll of Michigan State University. “We’re starting to get a picture of what autism looks like in the first years of life.” Because autism normally isn’t diagnosed until a child starts to show delays in talking and other milestones that typically occur after age 2, it’s been difficult to look at what children are like in the first years of life. Until recently, psychological scientists have only been able to learn about the children’s behavior as an infant and toddler by asking their parents, and sometimes looking at home movies.

But now results are coming in from studies that followed large numbers of children from 6 months to age 3, when a formal diagnosis could be determined. Some children later developed autism and others didn’t. “The group of children that eventually develop autism spectrum disorders looks different from typically-developing kids,” Ingersoll says. At 12 months, children who will later develop autism are less likely to show “joint attention behaviors” – paying attention to both a toy and another person, for example. They are also less likely to imitate. At this point, it is difficult to use this information to diagnose individual children this young; there’s such a large spectrum of normal behavior that the differences often only emerge when scientists compare a lot of children. But experts are now able to diagnose autism spectrum disorders at 18 to 24 months – much earlier than autism used to be diagnosed.

If young children have problems with social behaviors, it may then explain some of the later problems in autism – if they don’t imitate, for example, that could help explain why they have difficulty with language later, Ingersoll says. “If there’s some early disruption in these mechanisms that are involved in social learning, the children have many fewer opportunities to learn about their environment,” she says.

Because social learning is so important, some psychological scientists are trying to develop ways to work with toddlers who show early signs of autism. For example, several interventions have been developed to teach joint attention and imitation in very young children with ASD. In one such intervention, reciprocal imitation training, a therapist might play with the child by imitating what he is doing, then encourage him to imitate her. “We try to teach them, imitating other people is this great social thing,” Ingersoll says. These techniques are also taught to parents to practice at home to expand opportunities for learning.

Early results have been good, although the studies on several of these interventions won’t be finished for a few years, Ingersoll says. “I think there’s a lot of hope that if we can figure out the right behaviors early enough, and intervene early enough, we may be able to prevent the development of autism.”

Vaccines & Blue Foot Syndrome

Submitted by Lois Rain on May 28, 2011 – 8:31 pm4 Comments

Where’s the proof? More research! Inconclusive! Vaccines don’t cause autism, that’s a kooky theory. Yet who would vaccinate if there was ANY doubt? Each year that the outcry gets ignored is one more year millions of kids are forced to take a chance. Autism aside, many will become ill with chronic disease, allergies, and a weak immune system. Dr, Sherri Tenpenny vents her frustration with the lack of rationale using an analogy called “Blue Foot Syndrome.”

The analogy below may sound absurd, but it begs the question, how much proof is needed? Over 400 peer reviewed articles, documented evidence, increasing illnesses after vaccinations, thousands of parent testimonies, even Washington knows about it – is that enough? Obviously, proof of harm from vaccines is not going to stop the insanity. It’s time to turn the tables on that ilk and ask in return: “Where’s YOUR proof that they DON’T cause harm??”

HBOT Healing Victory

HBOT victoryIn North Carolina, a blind mother of three autistic boys took on North Carolina Medicaid—and won.

Meleah Corner had been taking her sons to a clinic for hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) treatment for their autism. Both Meleah’s pediatrician and a neurologist noted clinically that there was a definite improvement in the boys. But when she submitted the bills to NC Medicaid, they were denied.

After exhausting normal routes of appeal, she decided to sue NC Medicaid in North Carolina Superior Court. Dr. Paul G. Harch [1], who is on ANH-USA’s board of directors, was able to testify for Meleah in the case. Dr. Harch is a graduate of the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine (Magna Cum Laude) with twenty-one years of experience in hyperbaric medicine, and is president of the International Hyperbaric Medical Association Foundation.

As powerful as Dr. Harch’s  testimony was, the defense put on quite an ugly show, doing its best to discredit everyone connected with the case with false or misleading statements. The government’s expert witness even gave testimony that appeared to directly contradict his own published research on the effectiveness of HBOT treatment! But the judge listened carefully and found for the plaintiff.

The mother recently received word from her attorney that the state has chosen not to appeal the Superior Court decision—the evidence was clearly convincing. They will cover the HBOT for all three of the children, and the attorney general’s office even asked if they needed any help with provider enrollment or getting the kids on a facility’s schedule.

You may remember that two years ago, Dr. Harch was featured in a documentary [2] on HBOT for brain-injured soldiers. HBOT is a proven treatment for traumatic brain injuries [3]. It is nothing short of monstrous that our government rarely gives veterans, with their numerous head trauma injuries, this life-saving treatment. What treatment is emphasized instead? Drugs—most of them ineffective, most highly toxic, and all approved by the FDA. The head of the military says he deplores the high suicide rate among veterans, but we need look no further than the drugs our vets receive [4].

Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy is pressurized oxygen delivered to the patient in special tanks. Which countries have taken the lead on the manufacture and use of HBOT tanks? Russia and China. Certainly not the US! Still, many hospitals have such tanks, and the FDA has approved their use for carbon monoxide poisoning and even flesh-eating infections, but they are rarely used even for the latter. How absurd that the tanks sit in hospitals unused—while ignoring their vast potential! As we noted a few months ago [5], HBOT is an effective treatment for stroke, Lyme disease, major viral infections, MS, heart disease, sinusitis, head injuries, and many other problems.
